Death

The final stage of God's forbearance appears to be death (1 Cor 11:29-32).  This would be an extreme case where the believer is so persistent in sin that God takes them from the earth in a final act of mercy to preserve them from being judged as an unbeliever.  In this case the believer would be "saved as through the fire" (1 Cor 3:15).
