yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. -Romans 4:20-21
God promises us many things in His Word. Some are absolute, some are conditional, but they are never empty or powerless (Isaiah 55:11).
Here is a list of but a few:
1) He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
2) He will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)
3) He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6)
4) He will strengthen and help you (Isaiah 41:10)
5) He will let you be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13)
6) He will protect you from Satan (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
7) He will cause all things to work together for our good (Romans 8:28)
God has commanded us to walk and please Him and to abstain from sexual immorality (This is God's command). As we walk we can feel as though God is asking too much from us. We must rely on His promises to give us hope, to firm our commitment and to comfort our souls. We can have "strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us." (Hebrews 6:18)
