Sometimes the biggest challenge in any endeavor is knowing how to start. We worry about the consequences, we worry about failing, we worry about looking bad and losing face.
By far the greatest barrier is the shame and disappointment that we imagine we will encounter. Instead of dealing with the sin we become like King David trying in vain to cover up the sin. This is the path of folly and destruction!
We hide sin to maintain our pride. Hiding sin never benefits others, it only makes the wound deeper when the secret things are brought to light. You are not protecting your family or ministry or God's reputation. You are simply a hypocrite, professing and teaching one thing while doing the opposite.
Until you are willing to deal with the sin no matter what the consequences, openly before the Lord in true repentance then you are not ready to begin the battle.
