The right shoes

I learned the my lesson the hard way.  Throughout high school I was plagued with ankle injuries.  I had a pair of soccer boots that I liked and stuck with them.  I didn't know anything about pronation/supination, arch support, wide feet, etc.  Sometimes I played basketball in running shoes. Other shoes were to narrow or too big and caused blisters.  My ignorance translated directly into unnecessary injury.

Now I play basketball in basketball shoes (the 10th pair I tried), they are the right width and have inserts for stability.  It is life-changing.

Humans are all ignorant of almost all things in the spiritual realm.  We can't see angels and demons, for the most part we don't know how they operate, or what they can do.  But God is in control of it all.  When He provides us with footwear to fight spiritual battles we know it will be perfectly designed to perform its function.  If we try to use other shoes (our own strength, wisdom, false teaching, etc) then we are setting ourselves up for a fall.
