Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. -Galatians 6:7After spending time in the Conviction stage things start to change. The voice of your conscience grows smaller (1 Tim 4:2) as your appetite for sin grows stronger. You run out of excuses and grown weary of praying for escape (Praying for Deliverance).
As a result you have knowingly moved into a state of open rebellion
(You are giving God the middle finger). During this time God begins to warn
us about the results of continuing in sin. We feel the pressure from God as his hand is
heavy on us (Psalm 38:2) and we are haunted by anxiety (Psalm 38:18). Communion with God is disrupted (Isaiah 59:2)
and we feel the isolation.
The warning stage is a miserable stage where we only expect
God’s wrath (Hebrews 10:26-31).
God is calling us to return to Him (Zechariah 1:3) to put
away sin and truly repent, then the Lord will bring deliverance and restoration
(Psalm 51:1-13).
