Ideally every addict could take at least 90 days away from their lives to be in an atmosphere that limits temptation, provides consistent support and allows them to detox.
Clearly this is not an option for most people. The first step is to clean house. Then at a minimum someone should be working with the brother, calling and encouraging them every day for 90 days.
Furthermore in order to properly detox there must be something cleansing and restoring that is replacing the toxins with something fresh and pure. Slowly clear thinking and proper perspective begins to take shape. Detox should be a time of intense spiritual guidance and restoration. We must give ourselves to prayer and reading the Word. Restoring communion with the Lord is the source of power we need to battle lust.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things - Philippians 4:6-8
